Episode 206

Return of the King

Running out of ideas, Rohit and Kush were minutes away from calling Dimitri Anatoli back from the gulag for this week's episode. However, they have been saved by the freezing & heavily jet-lagged Miguel who has returned from his semi-frequent galivants to Europe. We start this week's episode with Miguel dobbing in Rohit for being guilty of a very behaviour he lambasted last week. We then hear about Miguel's tales throughout Europe (slightly more exciting than the 30 minute tale about incorrect exam procedure from his last trip) - from AK47s to Chinese restaurants in Italy to alternate methods to ingesting nicotine.

After we hear from Miguel, we dive into the first segment of the week - 'Rapid Fire Trivia'. For this game, the boys must answer as many correct answers as they can in 60 seconds. The winner will determined by the total number of correct answers over three rounds. In this week's edition, Miguel and Kush's general knowledge gets exposed to such a degree that would undermine the Australian schooling system.

Our final segment of the week is 'Should They Be Charged?'. We run through some recent news stories and events and pose the question whether the person should have been charged, or should they have been allowed to play on. We question the boys' morality as they tackle tough societal issues such as capturing & killing an wild ibis, singlehandedly draining an entire dam for one's phone & opening the emergency exit of a plane for some much needed fresh air.

Also this week: Hypocrisy, snus, gelato vs ice cream, Venus, Ben Hur & bin chickens

Segments this week:

The Logue: Tired of reaching around each other (at least on the podcast), the boys have instead decided to reach around the week’s news stories, events and viral trends.

Rapid Fire Trivia: Answer as many questions as you can in 60 seconds. Most correct answers win

Should They Be Charged: We debate morality vs legality as we yarn through news stories and events and discuss whether they should be charged

Critical Banter

Established by 4 high-school friends in 2018, Critical Banter was formed through a shared love of comedy, entertainment and gaming. The launch of the podcast in 2019 was, at first, to validate their humour beyond their family and friends.

Now, The Critical Banter Podcast is a fast-growing comedy podcast that emulates the feel of late-night shows and engages heavily with their listeners to create relatable content - including story-telling, games and Q&As.
